In case you don't have time to read this unnecessary document, here is the short of it;
I Don’t Want Your Data, Google Might, Yell at Them, Not Me.
I don’t track you.
I don’t store your data.
I don’t sell your information to the highest bidder.
I barely track what I ate for lunch.
However, my blog is hosted on google sites, and information has no price too large.
I personally don’t have analytics, cookies, or any sneaky scripts spying on you. I don’t care where you came from, what device you use, or how long you stick around. Read my blog, don’t read my blog. I’m just here for the mmrs.
However, if you interact to my bluesky, insta, linkedin, etc, understand that your interatction will be publicly visible and 'out on' the internet.
Now, let’s talk about the real data collectors (google, advertisers, and tech giants). If you interact with this site, my web host might collect:
♥ Your IP address (because they must know where you live)
♥ Browser & device info (so they can "optimize" ads that neither of us may have asked for)
♥ Usage data (because Big Tech can’t help itself)
This is all covered under Google’s Privacy Policy (or your own web host’s privacy policy), so if you want to see the full extent of their data obsession, give that a read.
The same goes for your internet provider, and your browser of choice. I prefer firefox, which I know is ironic, since I am using google sites to host these walls of text.
"Dear data hoarders,
I do not condone your relentless collection of personal information. If you must gather data, I strongly urge you to use it for something actually useful—like improving society, advancing ethical AI, or stopping world hunger.
But no, instead, you’ll probably use it to:
X Sell more targeted ads for overpriced subscriptions.
X Manipulate people into consuming more than they need.
X Build algorithms that favor profit over human well-being.
If your data collection isn’t contributing to a better world free from capitalistic greed and exploitation, then I don’t approve. At all.
Do better.
Sincerely,
A Blogger Who Values Privacy More Than Your Shareholders Do
Your Choices (Because You Deserve Some Control)"
Use an ad blocker – Goodbye, creepy tracking ads.
Disable cookies – But be warned, the internet is needy.
Browse in incognito mode – It won’t stop everything, but it helps.
Use a VPN – Become an internet ninja.
Move to a remote cabin in the woods with no phone, no computer, and maybe no electricity – Extreme, but effective.
I respect your privacy. Big Tech? Not so much. So, while I don’t track you, they probably do. If that bothers you, take control of your data—or just enjoy the irony of reading a privacy policy that’s hopefully more honest than 99% of the internet.
Stay safe, browse wisely, and may your personal data remain your personal data.
